honeyrockmelon Honeyrock Cantalope
(Cucumis melo)

Tender annual heirloom. Certified organic! Honeyrock melons grow up to 6 inches in diameter and 3 to 4 pounds. Tough gray-green skin with a coarse open net protects thick. Sweet organish flesh. Resistant to fusarium wilt. 5 to 7 melons per plant. Also called Sugar Rock. Start seeds indoors 2 to 3 weeks before last frost, or sew directly in garden beds after last frost. A tender annual heirloom. Certified organic! This unique watermelon’s round, dark-green fruit is splashed with small yellow “stars” and usually one, larger yellow “moon.”. Delicious light red, juicy flesh. The fruit is 8 to 12 inches in diameter and weighs 10 to 15 pounds. This famous heirloom matures quickly, but only holds for a short time. A tender annual heirloom. This reliable, somewhat drought tolerant watermelon was developed in 1959. The cute, round, 5 to 6 pound fruits have reddish orange flesh underneath a rind that is nearly black when ripe.
